Efficacy of Mycorrhizae Based Manure on the Vegetative Growth of Rice Grown within Bauchi State, Nigeria

Background: Rice is one of the staple crops in African continent for its ability to give maximum yields which can help achieve food security under sustainable development goals (SDGs); those effects, incessant use inorganic fertilizer has been employed proved have devastating effect environment and ecosystem at large. Therefore, thirst an alternative method ensure bumper production rice cannot be overemphasized so as prevent soil alteration environmental damage. Objective: This study aimed determining efficacy mycorrhizae-based manure on vegetative growth compared sustainability. Methods: Soil samples were collected from seven (7) locations (M1 - M7). Mycorrhiza isolated soils mass produced, mixed with organic waste form (biofertilizer) applied concentrations 50 g, 100 g 150 potted tree (3) replicates. Growth parameters observed plant height, girth diameter, leaf broadness number. Results: The result revealed mycorrhizal spore count ranging 1.7 × 107 4.1 across locations. gives highest height 45.33 cm least 18.5 fertilizer. Furthermore, biofertilizer a positive influence other comparison Statistical analysis shows that, means all except numbers significantly different p ≤ 0.05 sampling Conclusions: Mycorrhizae-based proves effective replacement that boost cheaper cost.
